ANN, the koala with the butterfly almost seems to be clowning around and trying to attract the attention of the other koala, who isn't getting it at all.

Jeanie, I am worried about you and the hurricane. Can you evacuate?

:) So far everything here appears normal just windy. The rain bands are starting to come in but not bad so far. I am south of the area they expect it to reach land here and the north and east sides are the most dangerous. My house has been through many hurricanes since I have been in it since 1964.

Many trailer parks were told to evacuate and many are not. When the winds get above 50 mph emergency crews cannot answer calls. Some of the condos on Palm each have people not evacuating. If I was in an evacuation area I would go to a shelter or to Jim's or Andy's.

There is nothing but hurricane stuff on all the TV channels. That happens every hurricane. I wish one channel would offer something different. I will keep y'all posted as long as I have power. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, you must be a real pro in the hurricane department! They seem to be tracking these storms and can predict when one will hit where. Glad to know you're not in a danger zone.

I've been in one hurricane. If I lived anywhere near the east coast of florida...whether it was to be directly hit or otherwise...I would be on the road heading as far north and west as I could go. The one I was in was a cat 1...and that was way more than I ever want to experience.

Jeanie ~ I hope that you've evacuated. Matthew is expected to be a Cat 4 or even possibly a Cat 5, with winds of 140-160 mph. President Obama has declared a state of emergency in Florida.

Very scary for Florida and the southeast coast. This isn't a typical hurricane.

              BE SAFE EVERYONE!

I have a real crazy question? My calendar is wrong IF it's messed with.

Day of week, month, and I know the year....I think.

But lately, the pain starts to return before I am scheduled for another dose of Tramadol. I have good days where everything is taken at the recommended dose, and other days when it's just a matter of how much pain I have.

My doctor wants you to bring in everything you take, even supplements and the pain killers like Ibuprofen. I always do. And we do the "blood panel" thing about one a year. I only see him twice a year, but can call and get in no problem if I'm having trouble with anything.

I like my doctor, am very comfortable with him, but not enough to ever get a prostate exam!
                      ((((((Howie)))))) ~

It's good to hear that you see your doc twice a year, have blood work, and share all of your medications/supplements with him.

I'm guessing that your doc checks your PSA levels with your annual blood work to determine how well your prostate is functioning. Unless there is a concern, many docs these days do not do a digital prostate exam. My son, Jon, had to have a digital exam in 2010, since he has an enlarged prostate. It only took about 30 seconds.

Be sure to tell your doc that you tried Aleve and had a nosebleed. It may or may not be important, but your doctor should know everything.

It's wonderful that you like and trust your doctor, so be sure to ask him about other alternatives to pain medications to manage your pain.

Maybe a heating pad would help with your arthritic pain (it does for me), or a topical analgesic like Aspercreme, Tiger Balm, or Salon Pas. They've helped me for 50 years of PA/RA pain.

Lastly, I recommend that you consider giving up something that's very important and meaningful to you ~ your thong. I'm just guessing ... but it could be restricting places that should be allowed to roam free.

In the words my forefathers....Give me a thong, or give me death!

You want to hear something strange? (Like every word you say isn't?)

I usually sleep on my left side, the pain is in my right shoulder. For no particular reason, I slept on my right side. I woke up at about 10, and no pain!!!!

I'm just sitting here sipping my coffee, and still no pain. I've taken my meds, but no Ibuprofen. Wake me when I stop having this great dream!
                          Have a great day all!

Oh no Sam, now YOUR shoulder hurts? Here, let me rub it a while.....

What's going on with me! I'm having the second nosebleed for the day. One when I got up, and now again. I've cut the dehumidifier down so the air is not dry.

I'm glad I keep a folded stack of paper towels in here beside me.

I think you should call your doctor on Monday to let him know that you've had a few nose bleeds, especially if this continues over the weekend.

Here's a list of potential causes for nose bleeds, including the use of NSAIDS, such as Ibuprofen:

Last year, our dear friend was hospitalized with bleeding ulcers and low platelets due to Ibuprofen, which she was taking for PA/RA.

Try to not take any Ibuprofen for a few days to see whether that stops the nose bleeds.

Sending healing energy your way ~
