Yeah, giving up your drivers license sucks. Had to do that this year when I was bedbound, but was supposed to go to the dmv for a road test to renew it. Don't know that I will ever get it back

On the good news front: was at the wound clinic yesterday. My newest pressure sore seems to be healing. Shallower, no longer bleeding. I still have to stay off it, but am somewhat relieved. And physical therapy went well. Was able to transfer from exercise table to wheelchair without using a slide board, and able to stand at the parallel bars for a whole 15 seconds!! So home exercising seems to be helping....in between lying in bed for hours each day

No trick or treaters here. We are way too far off the beaten path th lure them. We like the day after Halloween, though: all the candy is half price!

Peg, that is a tough moment for sure. Are you able to still enjoy riding a horse or a tractor, for fun, not for transportation?

Uppitycats, glad to hear your progress. Every increment of progress is something to revel in.

Getting the cervical spine and thoracic spine MRI today. Finally.

Peg, I'm so sorry you've had to deal with losing your driver's license. I've seen how hard that hits people.

You're good with a computer and being able to do a lot of things online might help to make this easier.

Cat, that is such good news about the pressure sore! With luck they've caught it in time. And congratulations on the signs of improvement!

Good luck with the MRIs, BBS. Do they do them both at the same time?

:) Peg I am sorry about your license. For awhile they had me take the driving test every year because of MS. Two years ago they changed the DMV and put it under the tax collector. I have not had to take it since then. In 2018 when I renew I am sure they will make me take it again.

Living alone would not be easy if I could not drive. I only go to the grocery, the doctor, vet and dentist and once in a while to dinner close to home.

Cat I am glad your bedsore is healing and that PT is helping. I don't know if I could stand for 15 minutes. Maybe one or two minutes. BBS let us know your results please.

Andy will be here soon to do my trash and recycle. The ceiling light is out in the computer room so I will get him to change it. I am so grateful that he is so willing to help me. Jeanie :)

I tried to lose a day, but it didn't work. I somehow got it in my head, we get paid tomorrow. Now tomorrow I won't have coffee unless I save some today. I guess it was just wishful thinking.

I did sleep late today, but payday I'll be out the door before 7, and get everything done. After grocery shopping payday, it will be coffee time. I'm having coffee with a spoonful of chocolate ice cream, and a spoonful of sugar. It makes a nice flavor, and cools it enough to start sipping it.

So tomorrow, and today, I am doing NOTHING. I do have a meal for each day, just not....sniff....coffee!

                Have a great day gang!

Agate, I'll have your coffee. Vicky's is just too pretty to drink! Do you think that's real, or faked?

I've been sleeping off and on all day, and when I wake up each time, it's STILL not payday!

Peg, really sorry to hear you had to turn in your driver's license. That would be extremely hard. I know it makes you sad and all here who have had to do it.

Cat, your news sounds good. Seems like someone should be able to come up with something really soft that is removable to cover that place. I think I am saying (or trying to say) something that you can take on and off, so that when you are going to be laying on it you can use it. Then when you get this completely healed use it to cover the place when you are going to be sitting or laying on that spot so that this will not keep happening.

Agate, you are so good to Howie. First you give him beer and now a cup of coffee. You really spoil him.

I am going to have to try and find some little kids that I can give these mini tootsie rolls to. The reason I don't get many trick or treaters is because we just don't have any small kids in our neighborhood. I left my porch light on until it was late enough last night that I knew I would not get more than that one who came pretty early. I was hoping I would get more.

I also have mini eclairs and mini cream puffs. They are real good. Last week when I had book club, I also had to go to the Doctor that afternoon. I didn't have time to fix anything so I bought a frozen box of each. Then I found out that not everyone could be there. There were only 5 of us. So I took twenty (10 of each) to the book club and now I am taking out one of each for desert each night. They just need to stay at room temperature for 45 minutes and then they are good to eat. It will take me a long time to eat them all. I probably should have saved the ones I had after dinner tonight and had a cup of hot tea with them. It has been cool here today. It is supposed to get back warm tomorrow and Thursday and then cool back off over the week-end.

Virginia, those frozen mini eclairs and cream puffs sound like the perfect thing to serve to a book club. Or any other group of people who might appreciate them, and who wouldn't appreciate them?

I see Howie has helpfully given an address where you can send those extra Tootsie Rolls to.

If he misses his beer, we supply it here. If coffee is lacking, we come along with that. We're nice folks on this board. And it's not every cup of coffee that looks like the one Vicky provided.

Cat, I'm not sure that resting a pressure sore area on a particular kind of material is the entire answer though the type of material surely matters.

As I understand it, a pressure sore can get very bad before anyone realizes it. You yourself aren't feeling it because that area is numb. But damage is happening inside, under the skin, and showing up where anyone can see it only as a slight redness for quite a while.

Yet another reason why the numbness that MS brings is so very dangerous.
