Whatever that creature is in your avatar should stop them in their tracks. Maybe I could borrow What's-Its-Name from your avatar when I need to round up the ants for their chocolate dipping.
:) Thanks Agate I had never really known what wassailing was. I don't like cloves, ginger and cider, so I won't be trying it.
I talked to Jim and they did put their cat down. They have two others one was her brother and is almost 20 yeas old too. Right now they have 3 Chihuahuas, two from a lady in their church who died recently.
This week had the shortest daylight of the year. I wish we did not do DST. AC is going strong. It is over 80 here. Y'all keep warm. Jeanie :)
So sorry about the cat, Jeanie. A cat who lives to 20 has reached a ripe old age but still it's always sad to lose a pet.
The famous painting Howie is referring to is American Gothic by Grant Wood.
Interesting that you don't always have to click on the Insert Image icon to get an image to show up here. I just clicked on Copy Image in the drop-down menu for the image and it worked.
You don't need a slow cooker for wassail. It does just fine in a kettle on the stove. I make it like that, strain out the whole cloves and cinnamon sticks, put the cider in a thermos to keep it hot, or just serve out of the kettle. The slow cooker is handy -- you just plunk it on the table and it keeps everything hot -- but not necessary.
Agate, you win the "what's this from" contest. I have more silly alien pictures, and you know how I like to change my avatar.
I remember someone asked me to post MY picture. I will, but right now, my camera needs a new battery, and disc, whatever that's called.
But I just went to the bank and store, and my account has $4.44 left after my $40 withdrawal. But I have plenty of food and even beer to last me until I get paid again. And it will be on Friday, the 2nd of December.
You know, I do trim the ends only. I've been to a barber one time since I was a kid. I've always cut it myself. Now, I just let it grow, and when I go out, I pull it back in a ponytail. I will never go to a barber again.

I don't know what movie it was in, but this guy goes in for his first Army haircut, and starts telling the barber "just a little off the top", and by the time he finishes saying that, the barber is finished, and the guy's head is shaved bald, the standard Army cut. NEXT!
