This may be a helpful site if anyone needs to renew your Drivers License soon. I was dreading having to go to the DMV to renew, but found out I don't have to.

I just got my new one in the mail the other day. It was so nice not having to sit in that crowded DMV forever.

This info was for the State of California, but I am in Virginia, and you can do it here too. The site may also have been listed on the renewal notice I received, I don't remember.

Save this site, and you may save yourself some time and trouble.

That will be really helpful if your state offers it.

There aren't too many things much drearier than having to sit in the DMV office for hours waiting for your number to be called.

I've had to do this for the state ID card, which I have to have for ID, even though I don't drive.

Looks as if my state requires me to be there in person, with $44.50 in hand, to renew it but that's over year from now. I can start saving now....

I haven't tried to get a state issued ID yet. I don't know what they even charge for one here in Wisconsin...

My online license renewal was about $40, and it's good until 2024. They used my old picture, and really, I haven't changed that much. Maybe I stopped getting older!

With so much concern about identity thieves, terrorism, illegal immigration and cyberhacking, I'm really surprised that you can renew a license online, with no updated photo or signature, and for such a long period of time.

I did make it out to the car to work on it. Oil is full and very fresh looking. And the battery I put on the charger is fully charged now. But all four tires are VERY low on air. I did take one off, and ran up the road and filled it up, brought it back, put it on. One down, three to go, but not today. I'm tired and going to eat shortly.

:) Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We all had a nice dinner about 2 PM. Andy had made corn bread stuffing just for me and also regular bread dressing. My Dad always made our corn bread dressing and I used to sneak some of it the night before. He cooked it TG morning.

Carla's Mom barely mentioned anything political. Jim and Carla have to put their 20 year old cat down tomorrow. Also their 14 year old Chihuahua is now peeing in the house often so she may be next. That is so hard to do.

Lacy is so tired she has gone straight to bed when we came home. I set off Raid Fumigators to kill the ants in the house when we left, but I forgot to turn off the AC, so not sure if they worked good.

31 days until Christmas. I am not at all ready for that. By this point in the past my Christmas cards were alll written and waiting for Dec. to go in the mail. I have written none! Goodnight all. Jeanie :)

How to Get Rid of Ants

In a small container (I use empty tea light cups), place a little sugar and a little Boric Acid.

Stir with a dispensable object (like a twist tie or the end of an unlit fireplace match).

Add warm water. Stir again carefully.

Place the container near the ants' entrance.

The ants will flock to it for the sugar.

The surviving ants will sluggishly carry it back to the nest; the rest will perish.

I guarantee this works! We have battled ants for 40 years, since our homes were built on imported soil. Everyone in our neighborhood has an ant problem. Many have exterminators spray around the exterior of their homes. $$Expensive$$ and toxic.

In 2000, we had to rip apart our entire kitchen, because they were coming in from everywhere, and they were everywhere, crawling on our walls, our ceiling.

We tried sprinkling cinnamon, baking powder on the floors, since they can’t tread through it. But that was messy. Then we painted the corners, where they typically entered, with Vasoline. Even messier.

Then we discovered the Boric Acid Solution, and we’ve had ant control for several years. Occasionally, they appear after rain (but we get so little of that), extreme heat or strong winds. We just put out the little feast for them. In a few hours, they are gone.

It's going to be 67 here today, and it was in the 70's yesterday. I guess Santa is going to need air-conditioning this year.

But Howie, Santa won't be in the picture for almost a month! If you're worried about this you could always send him a thong to wear instead of that warm-looking fur-trimmed suit.
