Love, love, love the new car! Battery needs no change (hybrid) in most cases even over a 15-20 year period. There is a regular battery in the car and mine needed replacing about 38,000 miles in the one I'm giving to my daughter. I have had no real maintenance issues in the last 7 years. A new battery, a new set of tires at 48,000 miles and oil changes and tire rotations. It has been a great and inexpensive car to operate with an average of 50 mpg. When I drove the new car home today I had 25 miles of electric no gas on the charge and got 110.7 mpg. Then the charge was gone and I was running hybrid and went down to 82.4 mpg.
David mentioned to me a couple of days ago that it seems I have more energy the last week or so. It literally took me a couple of weeks to recover from the travel at the end of October and beginning of November. I do feel better now.
We are not getting out of the 30s here today. Tomorrow will be in the 40s and finally Friday it might get up to 60. I am going to wait until Friday to do errands.
Does anyone else here suffer from Raynaud's? My fingers turn white and become so clumsy in the winter even when I keep the house above 70. It is like they automatically know it is Winter.
Virginia, my guess is that Howie has opted to stay "invisible." He can be logged in here constantly but nobody would know it.
I'm here most of my waking hours but turn the PC off at night and so my name wouldn't show up at the bottom of the page at those times.
Some of the users who show up as logged in are total mysteries to me. There have been inquiries about them in the past but never a satisfactory answer.
In the last few days we lost about 100-200 of our usual people who show up as being here, but I see that they're back now.
Or maybe I mean that "they" are back now. They may or may not be real.
Yes, Cherie my toes too, but I wear socks in the house and to bed to combat it. It just makes my hands so much more clumsy and I don't know a way to combat that. I noticed when I went through the salad bar at Whole Foods this past Friday, it was cold here, and I had a problem picking up things such as shredded carrots and other things. It was embarrassing. I was struggling to get the tongs to come together, which made me slow and I was holding up the other people.
Virginia, I am the same. I now weigh 137 (down from 154 in May).
My friend Ann came over today and brought Mac n cheese from Panera. I put real bacon bits on it to boost the calories. It was the small one and I ate half. Tonight I had Avgolemono (Greek chicken-egg-lemon-rice soup) with saltines. I will try to get in some peanut butter and celery later and I have an Orgain peanut butter bar beside my bed as I usually wake up at 4 AM.
I sent an email to my GI doc to see if something can be done before my next appointment on 12/21.
OTOH, my mammogram was normal. :-)

:) So Howie is invisible. wow! We went down into the low 40's last night and I was glad I had the new heat. Andy came yesterday and put together my Christmas tree.
Today he came and put up the outside lights and put the lights, garlands and ornaments on the tree. It looks beautiful. My new friend came tonight and brought dinner and we played Rummy tiles. She is flying to Niagara Falls tomorrow for 4 days.
I have a dental appointment tomorrow but I dread going there. Ann and Cat I hope you are both feeling better. From doing the stand up sit downs and weights my legs are a little stronger and my arms slightly better. I am going to keep it up.
Lacy likes laying on the tree skirt under the tree. Her PJ's are red and so is the skirt, so she blends right in. Jeanie :)
