Okay, I'll be there around 2:00. Well, maybe not. You have a great Thanksgiving Cherie.

Full day with lots of family fun. Becky (our youngest) has not had mashed potatoes or gravy or stuffing in at least 6 years due to gluten sensitivity. She was in 7th heaven experiencing all of them today. Eli, the 7 year old grandson, commented on David's tripod calling it a camera holder. David said it was called a tripod because it had three legs. Eli looks at him and said, "Like a Triangle has three sides but if it had 4 it would be a quadrangle!" He is devouring Beverly Cleary books and is truly OCD about organization of his room and legos and so much more but a lot of fun. Kristof showed up here on his bike miserably cold. He had ridden about 35 miles training for cyclocross before getting here and was chilled to the bone. Thawed him out with the first fire in the fireplace for the season and a couple of heated bed buddies on feet and hands while his cousin piled blankets on him and he sipped hot chocolate. Elsie went through my box of rarely used jewelry and took several pieces home with her as did both girls. Gregory helped with all of the food transport and packaging and is just a silly goofy pre-adolescent.

The dishwasher has been run three times today and all those dishes have been put away and the machine reloaded with the last of the dishes to add breakfast dishes to it. Carcass has been de-boned and is now making a savory turkey broth. Table cloth, napkins and towels are in the washer getting clean and I feel less exhausted than I usually do at this time. I think everyone pitched in to a greater degree this year and it helped. Heather went home with my car because her check engine light was on. Now to kick back with something that requires no physical energy expended. Blessings to all of you.

Cherie, you've had quite a Thanksgiving--and have surely brightened the lives of the people who will remember the occasion with pleasure and gratitude.

I hope Sunshine was able to relax over the holiday though setting things up after the move may have been an ordeal.

Peg, you're another one who certainly used your skills as a cook and host on Thanksgiving! People who are willing and able to do a holiday meal are amazing. I did them in my day and can't imagine how I managed. The effort involved is huge!

Hope you liked your son's girl friend and I'm sure everyone enjoyed the food. If it hadn't been for you, they'd all have been having to cook something themselves or eat out somewhere.

I'll bet that Catdancer has been busy doing up Thanksgiving for guests too. Just hope she's feeling better by now.

My nephew brought a feast for me. We sat and talked awhile, then he was off to do something else. He stays as busy as his mom.

I'm just getting in after a dump, bank, and store run. In for the weekend now. It was pretty chilly outside. (singing) It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

            Everyone have a great day!

Hi to all - Cherie, big Thanksgiving at your house for sure. I know you had a really nice time with all your family, and I am sure they did too. Watching the kids change is fun, and some of the things they say is sometimes even funnier.

Agate, hope you had a good day. I don't know if you were with family or not. I am sure if you were not you would have fixed yourself a good meal.

I have been wondering where Cat is. I wanted to ask her about her Fire tablets.

I was home yesterday, but one of my brothers came with some food late yesterday afternoon. So I did not cook.

I wonder how Ann made out having to watch Peter and his Mother eat, with only a little for her.

Howie, so glad you had a feast. I bet you even have leftovers for today.

Virginia, you're right. I had a whole plate of desserts I couldn't eat yesterday, so I'll have a few days I'll have a dessert after my meal. YUM!

Unlike Peg, we had a very cold Thanksgiving. Under 15 most of the day.

We made a Trader Joe Turkey en croute (puff pastry, dressing, turkey), cranberry- orange relish, relish tray (celery, olives and pearl onions) baby Yukons, turkey gravy, corn, carrots, and mushrooms and rolls and spinach salad. Also hot cider. Dessert was pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

I wasn’t able to eat much but knew I needed more protein so had some celery and peanut butter. Later in the evening I had a sliver of pie.

Peter did all most all of the cooking and prep. I did the table and clean up. It was a very tiring day.

Always busy Peg! Thanksgiving is hardly over and you are gearing up to feed more people for deer season. You are a wonder.

Howie, glad you are going to have desert for a few days. I will also as SIL sent more desert than dinner. Dinner was plenty, but she just really loaded me up with desert. I guess she figured I could keep a lot and have it over the week-end.

Ann, I am so sorry your Thanksgiving was not a lot better. Not being able to eat is a bummer. I just don't understand why someone did not get to the bottom of this. Bless Peter for doing most of the cooking for you.

I think I remember saying something about not minding cold weather because I could sit by the fire and read. If I ever say that again, y'all just shoot me. I had to go out today to get my nails done and it was bitter cold to me. It is 38 now, so I think it was low 40s, but somehow just felt even colder. My walking was awful. It was like I progressed in one day. I went to Whole Foods after nails to get a salad for tonight and my fingers were so numb and my toes and feet felt almost like they were not there.

After having Thanksgiving food yesterday I just wanted something green today. So I went through salad bar at Whole Foods, picked up another container of Yogurt and got some white grapes that are very good and that is it for this week. I am like Howie. I am set for the week-end.

It looks as if none of the clucking hens around here were on anyone's Thanksgiving menu, and that is something to be thankful for! They do talk about "tom" turkeys, don't they? Hens just won't do for the occasion.

Every year there's an official pardon for a turkey. I keep wondering what the turkey has done wrong but maybe I don't know the half of it.

Our turkey was a hen. And it was delicious. And I am mucking through today (rather slogging is probably the right word). Everything aches. Emptied, cleaned and refilled the therapy pool Tuesday and Wednesday and got into it tonight to try and stretch. Really got some good movement and deep massage to tough areas. A bit better. Made the turkey soup today and it is all packaged and in the fridge and freezer. Dave has been blowing leaves and hauling them to the trailer and he is achy as well so we are a bit like old fuddy duddies today. I guess that's allowed now that we are both north of 65 (at least occasionally).

Where is everyone today? I know it's a big "shopping" weekend, but I didn't think those on this forum were really "into" that. I've been laying low, staying in my shell. To be honest, this year the holidays really have me down. Thanksgiving was once again spent alone, just DH and myself. It was the first holiday since I lost my mother and it was also her birthday.
                            Missing her terribly.

                            Hope everyone is okay.

Nuthatch, the first everything after a hard loss is like that. I hope you feel better soon. I was also alone, but it was just another day for me. I guess most everyone is with their SO today. I had also wondered why it was so quite. I have been reading Becoming by Michele Obama and I just finished it a little earlier. If you are interesting you can go to the book review thread and read what is there. Linda had some interesting things to say about it.

I hope all is well with you, other than just being down and missing your Mom. I understand that, you were very close to her - always talking on the phone and face-timing. I hope you feel better soon. Maybe some others will be back on tomorrow or at least by Monday.

I'm in the hospital since Wednesday night ,had three mris, many blood draws, on steroids. .lost all ability to move legs, numbness and tingly sensation on my neck and face, vision uncoordinated. Thanksgiving meals was an English muffin and later a mug of tomato soup. Not a happy camper..

Bladder infection turned into an exacerbation...well duh!! Good news -this hospital treats me well. Bad news, it's an hour away from home😣 TC can't get here every day. And I'm.here. MS really sucks.
