Cat sorry about the awful bug you have. I hope you are completely well soon. I do hope you can go with TC to his sister's. I know he would be much satisfied if you are along.

Cherie, I hope MA works as well for you as RI did. Maybe you will get there and everyone will turn out.

By the way Howie, where are you today? Are you afraid if you come out we will start clucking again? If you have not received a call from your Doctor or found your Gabapentin you need to call your Doctor's office again. By the way, did you call CVS and ask them why you did not get the regular amount? They might be able to tell you, and this might be all it takes to find out.

I had a drug that was being filled for 90 days and I got it filled one time, like usual, and when I looked at the bottle it had just 30 pills. I called the Pharmacy and they said the insurance company had started doing that with that one drug. It was not my Doctor. So now thanks to insurance I have to get it every 30 days instead of every 90 days.

I've had funny things like that happen too with rx's. Sometimes a close look at just what is written on the label helps, particularly if you have an older bottle around to compare. There should be something on there about how many pills/capsules the pharmacy issued on the date given, and if you didn't get that many, you should definitely ask about it. Sometimes a pharmacy includes a note saying they'll send the rest of the rx along later but sometimes that note is hard to find.

Virginia, I gave up on the meds war. I'll just take 2 a day for the rest of the month. But the next time I pick up my meds, I will make sure they are correct before I pull off.

I went to the dump today, and took a ton of papers out of the back floorboard. Every time I go somewhere, I check my mail. Then right in the car, pull the "junk" mail out, and drop it in the back floorboard. It adds up!

Well, everyone have a great day!

            Cherie,

Very proud of you for going off ativan. How is that going? I'm getting ready to go completely off it next week, down to .25/day now. A little nervous though, but hopefully, shouldn't be much of a problem with such a low dose now.

Are you taking anything to help you sleep now?

Howie, can you tape a notice in your mail receptacle saying "no junk mail"?

Virginia, I'm so relieved your shingles wasn't even worse, or longer lasting, and that you sound like you're on the recovery phase of it! I think your experience motivated many of us to look into the vaccine!

SuzE-Q, I wouldn't ask. They just deliver the mail. It only takes me a few seconds anyway.

I get a TON of catalogs, but if I put my name on this list I would never be able to order some things that I might want. I better leave it alone and put them in recycling.

Suze-Q thanks for the well wishes re the shingles. I think I am on the far side of this now, however I still sometime want to claw my face it itches so bad, underneath my eyebrows and sometime up higher. I am on Gabapentin and hate being on it, but don't know what I would have done without it. When the nerves calm down I will face weaning myself off.

I get lots of catalogs too but am almost always glad to see them. They're like a trip to a store for me, without having to get to a real store. Of course all businesses have Websites now, and often what is shown there is easier to see than in a paper catalog. You can magnify the pictures online and often view many sides of something.

But I still have my stash of mail order catalogs that I keep on hand. I save the most recent ones for places I like. I have about 5 gardening catalogs, several for clothes, about 10 for other things, and a few for food and cooking, a few more for needlework. It's like having my own mall right here at home.

I just go to Amazon. They carry everything, and they are opening a store in my state which will reduce the shipping. But I haven't ordered anything recently because I only need groceries lately.

Can't go below 0.5 mg because the tablets I have are 2mg. TINY pieces for a quarter of a tab. I think I have moved through the withdrawal symptoms but I am not sleeping off it so have decided to go back to the 1/2 to 1 mg each night. I refill my last fill on them tomorrow when I get home. I see my PCP again the Monday after Thanksgiving and will ask for a script for the lower dose. Benadryl used to help. It no longer seems to.

On another note, the presentation tonight in Norwood, MA was small (22 people) but there was great interaction. Folks loved David. Apparently there was a drug company presentation tonight at a "better" restaurant. 8 of the folks were at a lunch today by a drug company so had 2 free meals today related to MS. One of the guys who had been to both also is going to a Parkinson's presentation/dinner tomorrow. Seems to be a community here that eats regularly compliments of the drug companies and service organizations. Again...David rocked it!

I get an Amazon delivery almost daily. I can research the product on the site and discover other products that might do the job better than the one I was first going to buy.

I buy lots of stuff for the farm and lots for the house. If I need aspirin I order it and it arrives within a day...no shipping charges. Aspirin is a simple example but this week I wanted some outdoor waterproof pants I had seen. There are full length zippers from the waist to your foot on the side of each leg. So I pull them over my jeans and then zip the legs. No need to remove your boots to get them on or off. What a great thing! I searched around amazon until I found them. Now, when it snows tonight I am all set!

I have started searching Amazon yfor a small portable battery charger. These things are amazing. Small and simple to use. I will post a link or info. But the product is small. You put the leads on the battery (red, black) and press the start button. So it is a complete unit...no need to plug it in. It will not charge your vehicle but it will jump a dead battery. I met a truck driver at the dog park and he told me I needed to get one. Does anyone have information on a device like this?

Linda, I am not understanding. Is it for the car battery or some other batteries? You say “it will not charge your vehicle but will jump a dead battery.” What kind of battery?
