Barkeep [as an older member used to say] fix me up with an ice cold Coke and some of your famous pretzels. I will order something later but a cold drink and some munchies will do for now. No , nothing going now but earlier the wife had me out helping her plant some flowers she had purchased. I have to say it looks nice enough to make the back pain worth it. I am going to take my drink and pretzels out to the beach and relax. Have Guido come out in and hour or so and I want to order a good steak with some fresh shrimp. I hope the place picks up but Easter Sunday everyone will probably be having family dinners like we are at our house. Yes we will have the granddaughter over for her Easter basket and to have the family her for dinner.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday and could get together with family and friends. It was a good one at our house as our granddaughter and her parents came over for evening meal. Emery had an Easter egg hunt in the house and she was so excited finding them and running to put them in her basket. We had dinner and Emery sat on my knee to eat a few bites to give her mom a break. She got down after just a few bites though as she had eaten at our SIL's grandparents earlier in the day and had some candy before coming over. She spent most of the time with grandpa as the others were busy reminiscing while looking at pictures I got out. I love having them look at pictures and remember the good times as so often people remember the bad things instead of the good. I know it helps our son and daughter remember how close they were growing up even though they were 5 years apart. Emery wanted to watch Mickey Mouse videos on you tube so I did that for her. Then she wanted to go out on the porch and just walk around and loved spraying the hose [at least helping grandpa hold the sprayer] to water our new plants we put out this weekend. Penny and I did get our front flower bed finished and it looks really nice. It will look great once the flowers really start blooming and spreading along with the perennials sprout up and bloom. We are getting the irises to bloom right now so we will see even more color soon. Our two rose bushes are also putting out roses right now adding color to the yard.
The weather was nice this weekend with cooler temps than we have had lately but still warm. I hope others that visit the room were able to get out and enjoy the weather. For those of us that believe I pray we remember the gift and promise that Christ gave us on this day and that everyone receive a bit of a blessing this past weekend.1979 spinal issues, 1993 lumbar microdisectomy L3-4, 1996 360 3 level lumbar fusion L2-5, 1999 open thoractomy fusion T8-9,

Hey Mark, glad to hear you had a nice Easter with the family. It sounds like yall have been busy in the yard. My roses have been in bloom for about two weeks I guess and one is front of MIL's window so that works out nice. I have no idea why since they were bought at the same time but one is huge and the yellow one is so pitiful it is sad. I keep wanting to plant a few more along the side of the house, they are pretty low maintace.
I got the weed eater out and did all the front yard, the back still looks like a jungle but honestly not high on my to do list lol. I have to use the little light weight electric one and it just can't do much agaisnt any real weeds. I wanted to fix some flower beds back there, plant some zinnia and other things that can take the Lab & heat but so far it hasn't happened.
I have a sitter for a few hours in the A.M and have to take Mr.Q to the wound center so nothing thrilling going on around here. Hope your all having a restful nite.

Karen, It seems like we have been the only ones around here but the others will show up soon I hope. I glad you could get some work done on the yard. I always do just a little bit each time I can get out. I do like our rose bushes too because they don't take much to take care of them and ours are growing crazy with lots of roses already. I am going to replant one of the other bush this fall because the rose bushes are growing so much. Mr Q is lucky to have a wife like you and I hope the appointment goes well.
Today was a day to get going once again after sleeping Monday away. I don't get a lot done as I need to get my body going again. I did get to the dr for my injection and stop by CVS to get my prescription. I did a little bit of trimming our small bushes and watered the new plants and bushes. The only other thing I got done was to work on the hose sprayer to stop leaks [I hope] and to go to the grocery to get our meat for this week. It doesn't look like much sleep coming my way but i hope to get in a nap so the day isn't so bad. It has gotten colder here and we are in a frost warning tonight and tomorrow night.1979 spinal issues, 1993 lumbar microdisectomy L3-4, 1996 360 3 level lumbar fusion L2-5, 1999 open thoractomy fusion T8-9,

Penny's parents came in this afternoon and are staying the night leaving in the morning. We had pizza so Penny didn't have to worry about doing dishes and could relax with her parents. Both kids and the family were here as Penny's parents haven't seen them in a year. It was a good visit as everyone had a good time and Emery put on quite a show. She was laughing and having a good time then she wanted to play chase with me so we went back and forth through the house with Emery running back to hide behind mom. Penny's parents got to see her having fun and interacting with all of us. She was full of energy and Penny's mom and dad described Emery as a live wire. Everyone else but Tyrel and me went over to Megan and Darrin's house to show them how they have fixed it up. I stayed home and cleaned along with took care of my back. By the time they got home they were ready for bed and Penny was happy everyone came and had a good time.
We have had some light rain this evening and are expecting storms Saturday evening or Sunday. Karen and Melanie you better batten down the hatches as your areas are scheduled to get hit tonight.1979 spinal issues, 1993 lumbar microdisectomy L3-4, 1996 360 3 level lumbar fusion L2-5, 1999 open thoractomy fusion T8-9,

I'm stopping by to check in and hope everyone who was in the path of those tornadoes are okay. We're busy with spring activities - t-ball, swimming, yard work, etc. I just met with a 2nd surgeon regarding my arm and limited blood flow. Both surgeons approach the surgery differently and have different techniques so I'm torn. I like (and dislike) portions of each method. I haven't decided whether to get a 3rd consult but if I do, I'd have to go out-of-state as I've seen the two top surgeons in the area.

Newcervie, it is good to get a second opinion but it does add the complication that it often leads to having two different approaches to choose from. I hope you find enough info on each to make it an easier choice. We got the storms with nothing more than a lot of rain.
I spent the past day catching up on sleep. I am on a schedule of two days up and one day sleeping so I guess I will just have to accept it for now. I hope our members from the tornado areas come out of their shelters and check in.1979 spinal issues, 1993 lumbar microdisectomy L3-4, 1996 360 3 level lumbar fusion L2-5, 1999 open thoractomy fusion T8-9,

The family is fighting an illness right now and I hope to avoid it. Megan and Emery have bronchitus and Penny has a sore throat and ears that hurt. I hope to get her to the dr tomorrow and get her some medication. Megan and Emery went and they now have medication for their illness and I hope they get over it soon. Penny's mom and dad visited last Friday and now her mom is in the hospital with pneumonia so the sickness bug is hitting us hard. It was much cooler today than predicted so I did a little clean-up in the flower beds instead of painting the window the way I planned. I need to wait until we get several days of 70 degree weather before I paint.1979 spinal issues, 1993 lumbar microdisectomy L3-4, 1996 360 3 level lumbar fusion L2-5, 1999 open thoractomy fusion T8-9,

Looks like Guido and I are the only ones coming around any more. I will keep this place open for a while before letting it close. Not much going on other than trying to keep from getting sick with what my wife, daughter, and granddaughter have right now. I have been sleeping a lot more lately for some reason as I have a hard time getting going until later in the afternoon.
Guido, behave yourself and maybe others will come around once again. I told you if you kept bothering the ladies they would stop coming around:).1979 spinal issues, 1993 lumbar microdisectomy L3-4, 1996 360 3 level lumbar fusion L2-5, 1999 open thoractomy fusion T8-9,

Guido, just you and me it looks like. I have been sleeping a lot but at least I haven't had a lost day for a while. The women in the family, including my granddaughter, are sick and I am working on not getting it myself. I hope they get well soon as they have had it all week. It was a beautiful day today and I got out this afternoon to do some yard work. I am creating the last planting bed in our yard. I am going to put all our irises in this fall and I will have to decide what else to put in it for when the irises are just green with no color. It will cut down on the mowing so that is a good thing plus it creates more room for our holly tree to grow as it is spreading into one planting bed. Guido say hi for me if anyone stops in.1979 spinal issues, 1993 lumbar microdisectomy L3-4, 1996 360 3 level lumbar fusion L2-5, 1999 open thoractomy fusion T8-9,

I'm Back
I'll help you keep it open Mark! Good to see you and others here. We've had some beautiful weather but getting back to that fall feeling again; had some snow just north of us last night..brrrrrrrrrr! Thank goodness my Easter lily is sitting next to me, going strong, smelling great, just like spring.
Sorry to read some of you've been sick, please be well soon.
Seeing a shrink now who deals in dementias. Already have one, she added two more to list, Lewy Body and Parkinsons. Will be seeing specialist in another town.
Been very shaky, fell, hit my head on wall, put 5 inch diam. hole in wall, inverted marshmallow :) That was last Friday, head still quite sore but everything else doing much better.
Our long driveway was lined with stones which are now gone to be filled in w/dirt. Then to put new layer of blacktop down. Spring/summer chores have begun. SO can't breathe well enough so 2 guy friends coming next month to clean basement/garage. We already thanks them from bottom of our hearts.
Please all stay well and happy, enjoy our summer.......when it gets here<G> hugs, kat

Kat, it is good to have you back in the room again as I was getting lonely here with only Guido to keep me company. Sounds like your knew psych is helping you out. Sorry to hear about your fall as that was quite hit on your noggin to put that much of a dent in your wall.
It was a nice day here today and I was outside for a bit. I transplanted some flowers to the new planting bed but not much more. I did get to the library and find a couple books to read so I sat on the porch swing and read some. I have been sleeping every day and getting a lot of sleep in but at least I haven't had a lost day this week. Maybe I will keep sleeping every night which would be nice.1979 spinal issues, 1993 lumbar microdisectomy L3-4, 1996 360 3 level lumbar fusion L2-5, 1999 open thoractomy fusion T8-9,

Mark - Glad to see that you only had rain out of those storms last weekend. Bronchitis is showing it's face here, too, as I've got it. I've been under the weather since the end of March. I feel good now that I've had the antibiotics. My neck is worsening but I hope it doesn't get extremely bad until after I've had the surgery for the arm. The neck is not causing the arm situation. I am leaning towards the surgeon who's approach is more invasive as I think it is a better solution to the blood flow problems. And I've had the surgery with this surgeon for the other arm.
We're experiencing our 3rd weekend in a row with sunshine. This is highly unusual for this time of the year. My son had a t-ball game this morning and they played extra innings due to the sunshine.

newcervie, with good experience with the surgery on the other arm it sounds like a good decision to me to do the same surgery on this arm. I hope your neck clears up as you don't need that problem too. Glad to hear you are feeling better as it seems like this bronchitis hangs on for a long time. It is nice to have nice weather this time of year isn't it.
I had a sleep day today and it was the first one this week. The good part of it was I woke up several times but just couldn't stay awake. It is the coma type of sleep I really don't like. Not much that I can report as I slept through whatever was going on today.1979 spinal issues, 1993 lumbar microdisectomy L3-4, 1996 360 3 level lumbar fusion L2-5, 1999 open thoractomy fusion T8-9,

Mark - Those "coma" days don't sound good but your body needs the sleep and you're sort of catching up on these days. I have days where I sleep poorly for a few days and then sleep hard. It's harder to get moving on those days after I've sleep hard for the night. I slept poorly last night due to the pain throughout the arm. Hoping I sleep tonight well tonight. It is muggy and warm here today as rain showers are moving back into the area on Tuesday.
