Quite a Mothers Day gift you gave yourself Sally.

My sister was born on my dad's birthday, and her first born was on her DH's birthday!

Sally, you do have a beautiful daughter! Good genes from her Mother, eh? Is she the one that cross stitched the Bett Midler song for you? Yes, it is a beautiful song and I used it as my signature in honor of my oldest brother. He was 10 years older than me.

He died August 19th 2005, quiet suddenly. He was a father figure to me as my father died when he was quiet young. Every time I heard that song I thought of Ben. He helped me thru some very tough times. I do miss him so.

It's May, barefooting time!! Actually I go barefoot as much as possible.

Cooler today than the past few (upper 60s and low 70s versus upper 80s). Becoming quite overcast like we might get some rain. David needs to get the first lawn cut in but the mower he bought at the end of the season will not start. I don't think leaving it in an unheated shed through a brutal winter with a tank full of gas helped. He has changed the gas, checked spark plug, taken out the air filter and brushed it off (it is black!!!). So still trying to figure how to get it going. My plantings of mint and basil and impatiens are looking lovely as are the hanging pots of geraniums I got for Mother's day and the fuchsia Hydrangea same day.

I cannot seem to get in gear and have any energy the last few weeks. Just exhausted.

:) Hi everyone. I took Lacy to the vet to have her nails trimmed and her teeth checked. She has bad breath. The estimate to clean her teeth is alomost $600.00. The exam was 65.00.

Andy called when I got home and Jamie had another MRI. The doctors say the spine tumor has grown a lot and they need to try and remove as much as possible. He said it could make her lose the use of her legs, but he said if the tumor keeps growing that would cause her to lolse their use later on. She will be there at least two more days. She has been there 9 days so far and the daily copay is $150.00.

Andy is so stressed out. He is taking tomorrow off to be with Jamie for the surgery.

I am very tired. Going to the vet took 3 hours as the vets had just gone to lunch. So I waited for their return. Both the vets who had operated on my Little Bit before are no longer there. I am going to put her teeth cleaning off for awhile. When things are back to normal and I have more energy. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, that amount for cleaning a pet's teeth seems really outrageous to me.

My cat had the dental workup/cleaning deal a few years ago, and it was pricey but not that much.

I had pet insurance for the previous cat, and it was some help in her final years but a lot of extra hassle and may not have been worth while.

:) Hi everyone. Jamie's MRI showed the spinal tumor growing bigger. Today they operated to try to remove as much of it as they can. She is still in recovery and will be for awhile. The doctor said it may paralyse her from the waist down, but if they don't remove it the tumor would eventually paralyse her anyway.

I am tired. I finally got some clothes on about 4 PM and went to the grocery store. I need to get my nails done but maybe tomorrow or Saturday.

My brother Steve from North Florida called and he is coming down tomorrow. He and his wife got stranded in Oslo on a river cruise they had prepaid. They had to find their own way home and pay again, so he is coming here to file a lawsuit to get them reimbursed. I hope I can muster the energy to be hostess. It will be good to see him. Jeanie :)

What is it about Oslo that gets people stranded?? We were there a couple of years ago when a volcano in Iceland blew it's top, and the cloud mass headed to Europe, closing airports from England through Norway. We were delayed a week before we could get a plane ticket home! What river cruise were your relatives on? What cruise line? I know of the Hurtigruten that sails there...

:) Cherie I will ask Steve which cruise line. He just called and is leaving the lawyers office.

Jamie's surgery went well and they think they got about 99% of the tumor. Andy says she does have feeling in her legs so that is a good sign. I'll post later after Steve leaves. Jeanie :)

:) We had a nice dinner at Duffy's with my brother Steve, his daughter Brandi and my Andy. I made it through it all without falling. I am headed to bed. Steve did not say which company he is suing. I think it is Royal Carribean. Off to bed. Goodnight. Jeanie :)

It's just after 11 here, but my day is done! Today and in the last week, I'm in sleep mode, but it feels good. Lots of dreaming. Aren't dreams a strange thing. Even cats and dogs, and probably all animals dream.

I don't know if I told you I got a pair of Duluth jeans, but they were a bit too big, so I sent them back, and the new ones are going to get here tomorrow. Plus my brother sent me socks, and boxers, and colored Tee shirts which I washed today. So tomorrow, I'll be all dressed up, with no place to go!

There you are, Howie. I was about to send out an APB or some sponge-snifffing dogs.
