Come on over, Howie! I have lots of food stored up. But I also have a 66lb dog who loves it when people come over. I think he thinks he's an over-sized Chihuahua. He has been known to insinuate himself on peoples laps.

Peg to the rescue! My coleslaw leaves them smiling, and asking for more!

Jendie, 66 lbs! I'll have to ask my sister, the farm girl, if she has a saddle big enough!

Oooooooh, someone wants Howie's super delicious, super secret coleslaw recipe?
People have met horrible deaths trying to get that recipe from me. But I like surfers.

I buy the raw cabbage already fine chopped, with carrots added. It's where they keep the bagged salad. I use the big spoon. A measuring spoon I think it's called.

            3 spoons of mayo
            3 spoons of vinegar
3 spoons of sugar - I use Sweet Choice. 0 anything. And heaping spoon full except the vinegar.

Mix it well, then let it sit for one hour in the fridge. I use a large tuperware so you can just snap the lid on.

            And then, Surfs UP!

Hello sleepy heads! It was a sleepless night for me. I tried, even took one instead of my usual two sleeping aides, but no go. So I stayed up watching OLD TV shows. I didn't even know Abbott and Costello ever had a TV show.

So I went to the store shortly after they opened. It's odd how many people were there. Mostly guys for some reason, so single ladies, take note!

I'm set for a few more days which I like.

Now get up, and Sally, wipe that drool off your chin. No one can see mine. That's where a beard comes in handy, but keep shaving yours.

Hello, early birds and later birds too!

It was 96' yesterday and more of the same today. I'm trying to be glad that it didn't get over 100'--the forecast was for 105'.

So I'll be staying home in the cool shade and the air conditioning and just tinkering with some recertification papers. It's the time of year when the housing recertification process starts. It ends in several months.

Still going for PT. I have two more weeks of it. It looks as if the 90-degree weather might end by Wednesday, when the next appointment is.

The place is really clean just now because I had to tidy everything up for the most recent inspection. Now if it would just stay that way....

Jendie, in your HUD building do they have inspections too?

Virginia, you asked how to tell if pedometers are accurate. I don't know a way except to go by the customer reviews and ratings. If you've worn one a few days you'll find out how many steps you take on a typical day though.

I've seen these figures repeatedly: The average person takes 5,000 steps a day, but ideally we should be taking 10,000 (!). The recommended minimum for anyone is 3,000 steps daily. I don't think I've ever done 3,000 steps and have been wearing the pedometer for a couple of years now.

One problem I've had is that it keeps falling off my waistband unless I'm careful. If there's a belt loop I tie it in place with a piece of yarn. There are even clips you can buy to secure them, and they don't cost much. I've just been too cheap to get one.

We're heading into summer now. I hate the heat but seeing growing things and hearing birds sing makes it all worth while.

Sunshine is nice too as long as I stay out of it at its hottest. I have a straw hat to wear and should try to remember to wear ig.

I just got some great news. A person on one of my car forums, listed gas stations that carry alcohol free gas. No ethanol in the gas. Just motor-heads like me will understand what a plus that is, but Pinky rides again!!!

Can I be the first one to ride on the running board? Or maybe Pinky is one of those cars without a running board. If I wear pink, can I have a ride?

It has no running board. Beetles do, but not Ghias. But I'm willing to let you actually sit in the passenger seat. But my seat harnesses have a "crotch strap" that may take a little getting used to. Wear slacks.

No problem. I'm never wearing a skirt. A person who is numb learns not to wear skirts. You never know where the thing is.

I hope it's pink crotch strap, to go with the pink outfit.

Do you know they actually make pink seat harnesses. I'll try to find you one. And we can both chew Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum. You know, the pink gum! If we are going pink, lets do it up right!
