Now it all makes sense! Whenever someone would ask my mom if little Howie was behaving, she would say, "He's trying".

:) Jim and Andy spent the last two days stripping my tile floors. David did not clean the tiles before he put some kind ?? of sealant on them and there were many dirty spots that mopping did not fix.

I went to the rental place and got them an industrial buffing machine. Once they made the stripper stronger it really took up a lot of the dirty places. There still is a lot of the floor that needs more stripper and then to get sealed. They are coming back next Friday.

It looks so much better and they put back most of the furniture until next week. I am tired from being up all day for two days. I took the machine back and they will do the rest with a small machine. After that I went to the grocery store.

Andy is here now mowing the yard and brought me coffee and a doughnut. Keep cool everyone. Jeanie :)

It was a double beef day today. I went to the post office this morning and got my back brace, and FedEx just delivered my new bathroom rug. It's really made like a bathmat, but covers most of the floor. It was like Jeanie was talking about, and some spots were beginning to bleed through from the plywood under the linoleum.
Now it's covered up, and will be soft on my tootsies! Livin' large!

The fine art of camouflage, eh Howie?

I once lived in an apartment where there was a hole about a foot in diameter in the floor tile, with the floorboards showing. The landlord wasn't inclined to make any changes and so the bathmat covered that spot up for as long as I lived there.

It looked like something out of House Beautiful. Almost.

The only room here with AC is this bedroom, but I've put a blanket across the hall to see if I can cool the bathroom too. My blanket/curtain is about a foot and a half off the floor so the fur kids can come and go. But right now, Seven is stretched out in her usual spot, beside the computer, almost ON it. Cat daddy is the place to be!

I hope Whisper (Lorraine) won't mind if I mention that I had a message from her today saying how much she appreciated the happy birthday wishes from people here. She's sorry but she hasn't been here lately.

Maybe she'll find time to come back. Hope so.

Jeanie, thanks! I guess I already started. Two ladies from the neighborhood, and they are also in the book club, came by today and brought me a really pretty card, a bottle of wine and a real pretty wine glass that said "Birthday Girl" on it.
