Yesterday I walked more blocks than I want to think about: I think I acounted 34. It was a visit to doctor and labs. We sold the car and now rely on taxis and our feet.
After less than half those blocks I was experiencing pain (and later spasms) in my back, butt, and back of my upper legs. Today I feel it in the back of my calves.

BBS, do you think some kind of compression socks would help fight the spasms in your legs? I know your suit is supporting the legs while surfing, but perhaps when you get home?

      That sounds overwhelming Parsi.

I wear nylon knee high socks all day and all night. It doesn't stop spasms, but it cuts down on perceiving the neuropathy. Is there a down side to wearing compression sox?

Today I swam 850 Yards, just 100 yards short of a half mile. I am resigned to the fact that MS won't let me ever swim a Mile every day as I used to do before the October attack.

It was 54 degrees out and pool was 80F. It was nice to wear my warmer neoprene swimming. The guard is so sweet, so my having to scoot around after my swim and offered to help. He is a good boy, but that's a story for another day.

I've heard that people with peripheral neuropathy--and that includes many with diabetes--should avoid compression stockings. There are others who should avoid them as well. I would ask a doctor before getting them.

Hung out at the beach this morning. Paddled around 10-15 minutes. Mainly sat and watched natures show. Flat, not rideable. That's why it was deserted. Nice day off. Paying for it. My feet are twitchy and hurt badly.

I increased it to 60 mg by adding an additional 5 mg yesterday and today. It's making me forgetful.

I hung out at beach with two friends. It was freezing out and poor waves and they didn't want to suit up. I don't surf alone anymore in case of MS trouble or I get knocked out by a board or a spinner shark landing on top of me. Yes, that happens. Nearly wiped out my buddy last week.

As a landlubber I had to look up spinner sharks.

It was 48 degrees and raining this morning. we would have surfed anyway, but it looked very poor and unrideable on the webcam.

So, I swam a half mile in the heated public pool which was relaxing. I forgot my towel. Luckily I had a spare cotton shirt and that worked. Brrr! It was cold! Winter has finally come to a Florida.
