I would let the cats out in it, but I need to get film and a battery for my camera. I have a few pictures of the first time I let them out in the snow. They don't stay long, their little tootsies get cold!

Today I shoveled snow and helped clean off the car twice. It's very light snow but a lot of it.
Did you get this snow, Virginia? I see Howie did.
Agate, I heard on the national news (NBC) that you are getting ice pellets. They are worried about power lines. Good luck!

Ann, I got sleet beginning late yesterday afternoon and only turning to snow this morning. So, from watching news (and absolutely no activity in neighborhood) I think it is very slick out there. Will get down to 9 degrees tonight, but tomorrow night due to be zero - first time around here in over 100 years.Virginia

I'm just glad I haven't had to go through that downed power lines snow often brings. This time it was very light and fluffy, but when you get it like some did and sleet, or freezing rain, then power loss follows.
No power in this mess is the pits. As cold as it is, I would grab some blankets and pillows and cats, and head for the car. I has a nice stereo, and all the seats can fold flat. So we would retreat there and get by and rough it for a while.Last edited by Howie; 01-07-2017, 04:43 PM."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

So a car can be a home away from home? I often wondered why so many people in this building don't seem as upset about power failures as I get. I've been wondering if they're taking refuge in their cars.
Sure enough. That is what they're doing, apparently.
The rest of us sit here and shiver for hours. With all-electric heat, this place gets cold fast if the power goes out. During the last outage, which lasted 9 hours, it was really chilly. Boring too though I could use some features on my iPad even without the WiFi connection.
stillstANNding, I saw something about ice pellets in the forecast too but what I've seen coming down looks for all the world like plain old snow to me. Maybe other parts of the area are getting the ice pellets.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

I only looked out of a window twice. And only twice because the first window in the kitchen was so fogged up, I couldn't see anything. So I moved to the second window in the kitchen which is a better view anyway.
It looks it on the deck, and the flat topped railing that goes around it, and I can see how much is sitting on a 6 inch wide railing. It was quite a lot on those, and the driveway was still not driven on. A field past that made for a pretty view of the snow.
I need NOTHING, so it can take it's time melting, and probably will, it's COLD!"Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

:) I have my heat on for the second time for months. We are supposed to go to 48 tonight which is cold with the damp humidity. I will try to stay in. It will be cold for about a week. I set the thermostat on 72 and if it goes below that in here the heat will come on. Lacy is so cold natured and I don't want her to get ill.
All of you with snow and ice stay warm and safe. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, it's 13 degrees as I type this, and not getting out of the 20s until Wednesday. I have a doctor's appointment Tuesday, that unless nothing short of a miracle happens, I will have to miss.
This visit was to see how I'm doing with the Lyrica, and I know he was probably looking forward to a good report. It has a bunch of side effects listed, but thankfully, I'm not having any."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

Brrr! Here is a very powerful videoclip rejected by Adidas but viral on the internet. My personal interpretation is that the "nurse" symbolizes MS, and that the cheering residents symbolize our little community cheering each other on for each attempt to resist the MS shackles on our spirit and our body.

It's so dang cold today. 46 maybe inching it up to the mid 50's and 20-25 mph N winds. I would've gone swim on the Hester pool, but this Colonoscopy pre preps makes me think it's wiser to lay low until the Wednesday procedure. Maybe I will just put another bar of wax on my board for today's stretching.
What kind of stretching did you all do today. From other reading, it sounds like quite a few of us get a stretching workout every morning, trying to wrestle into clothing.

Sally, lets get us a pair of Adidas and then we can run, jump, go to the store and all kind of things.
BBS, I used my stretch out strap and just put it around each foot individually and stretched each leg upward for 12 times. This makes 3 days in a row. First time I only did 10 times on each leg and then yesterday went up to 12 times per leg. I am going to go very, very slow because I tried to use it a little longer when I first got it and I had problems for a couple of days. So I put it aside for awhile. I am really going to go easy in hopes of being able to keep it up.Virginia
