Yes, find the sweet spot where you benefit but don't get yourself in a jam!

Today is the first day of two days of all liquid diet for the Wednesday colonoscopy. Thus, no extra exercise for me until Thursday. Lay around, read, drink lots of fluids to try to get enough calories to prevent hunger, the most exercise will to climb stairs in order to complete necessary daily living.

Did about 15 minutes of stretching on the legs. In addition a "tiny" bit of housework. Read much of the day.

I am clapping on the sidelines for your new stretching bands!

Got down on the floor to do stretching and got a telephone call from neighbor, so by the time we talked I had to cut my stretching to a little less than half. Still trying. I did dust downstairs today, washed linens and changed the bed. So that added a little maybe.

            Good job!

I might try a brief swim today. Doc gave green light on it.

I swam a quarter of a mile today, about 11 minutes. I did not want to tempt fate to do more since I gotta do an hour driving and another two sitting....it has come to this...

I used stretch out band on legs for 14 times on each leg. I also mopped the kitchen and two baths, and vacuumed down stairs - that was yesterday.

Today, I just went to get caught up on grocery shopping. First time I had been out since snow. Went to two grocery stores.

I took it easy today, resting up for tomorrow, when there may or may not be a grocery delivery for my neighbor on the 3rd floor and me. It may or may not come in the late morning as scheduled, and then I'll be busy sorting her things from mine and figuring out her share of the bill and taking her things to her. I did talk her out of a 3-lb. bag of potatoes, settling for a 1.5 -lb. bag instead. Less for me to haul!

That wasn't the main idea, really. It was to get her the kind of potatoes she wanted. She's been unhappy with the various kinds of potatoes she's been getting. What she wants is a smaller potato but one of the yellow ("gold") type, I think. I finally found them--but only in 1.5-lb. bags.

I really ought to go out on the patio and shake the snow off some of the shrubs out there. We had a foot of snow, and it's been here for a couple of days now. People took some lovely photos though I didn't take any. Here is one a neighbor took of part of the front part of this building. I don't believe she'll mind if I share it with people here because she posted it on Facebook:

Well, in OT thread I just asked about when all that stuff was leaving and your groceries. This explains that you got more. Wish it would give you plenty of time to get lots of food in before getting anymore snow.

It is a very beautiful snow. Looks like a place there where people can cook out and sit out and eat.

No workout for me today with stretch out band. I had appointment. Then I went to eat with some family members.

I like this thread. Everyone has their "routine" and more importantly, know how and when to fit resting in. When to rest was the hardest for me to learn. I was always so active. But now, if I have a really active day, like going to the grocery store, or cleaning, I pretty much take the next day or two off.

It's like Dirty Harry said, "A man has got to know his limitations".
"Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

Virginia, with luck the grocery delivery will happen on Monday. Meanwhile the neighbor and I are managing. The snow shows no sign of melting. There was a foot of it.

Howie, I like how you put that.

Today I met up with surf buddies. The ocean was wild, about 5-6' with 20+mph onshore winds. The waves Were chaotic, not quite blown out, but a challenge. There was a big punch in them. It was @70F but with the Minimal sun, and a squall of rain here and there, it was chilly. Except in the water.

For such sketchy conditions it was surprising that there were 8-10 dudes surfing. Half looked not local, maybe Miami area. Funny how you can tell so much about people from how they move, groom, dress, and amount of friendliness.

The water was warm, maybe 75, so it was warmer in than out of the ocean. Sunrise was sweet with purple and pink sky.

The rides were nothing special, but just being there was, as always, special and a filling up of the soul. Now for a six hour mandatory rest...

BBS, great. Sounds like a good day.

So far I have done nothing - stayed up too late last night! However, I am going to try and work in a few leg stretches as soon as I get off here. Have to do it before I eat.

Good luck Virginia. I hope it goes well. I am still trying to recover. What a sucky blasted disease.
