Howie, you've never cooked with Ragu or not even heard of it?

Vicky, until recently I don't think Howie had cooked at all. He finally stopped by so many already prepared foods. Now he makes different kinds of pasta, which I prefer to the prepared foods. Sam actually does a lot of it. She stirs with her paw most of the time.

Today was maid day. Well, actually suppose to be maid day. I have not seen or heard from her. Every time she does this I get upset. I realize there are times that she might not can make it, but I feel she could call.

Weather still a bit cool and a little rain today. Cleared up earlier, but looks cloudy again.

Vicky, I ALWAYS make pasta with Ragu. I wouldn't even know how to make the sauce from scratch. But today's Ragu was new to me. Only had added mushrooms. I don't remember seeing that kind before.

Back in another life, when I worked, I lived a block away from an Italian restaurant, I mean REAL Italian! Mama did the cooking, and didn't speak English, and her son took your order, and he spoke pretty good English. The dishwashers I have a feeling may have been related.

During the week when I mostly went, it was pretty quiet, and not crowded. But weekends, they sold lots of alcohol, and food, and it would be packed. I occasionally went there during the weekends with friends, but we only drank.

Sorry about your maid, Virginia. My house cleaner and friend, Luci, was here today. We must be on the same schedule.

lets see ,, I lost my neuro,, he is moving to CA,, then the other neuro who is at our clinic is leaving too in November.. so that leaves all us MS patients scrambling to find another doctor,, they found me one in Des Moines, who handles this med,, hope when I go see , he doesn't insist I get the infusion there,,not going to happen,,

well that's all .. later then

Peg, sorry for the frustration. Why did the doctors start you on it, then move on to greener pastures? I would go for the infusion one time, and insist it be given closer to home, and if they say no, say goodbye.

There are new drugs coming down the pike constantly, and you can try one of them. Doctors used to care about people, and wanted to see them get better because of treatment they gave them, but now, money is all they see.

I hope you can get the treatment you want with a minimum of trouble.

Ragu comes in several varieties..with peppers, mushrooms, cheese, extra tomatoes, etc. I like Ragu, and also Prego.....just depends on which is on sale, when I go to the store. Paul Newman's sauce is really good....but really expensive....

Peg, I hope the infusion center closer to you will give the infusion even if you have to see a Doctor further away.

Howie & Cat, I found Prego sweet and Ragu salty. We use Bertolli. It is expensive as sauce goes but we only have it 4-5 times a year.

I've seen Prego, and Bertolli, but never tried them. Mama Mia raised a Ragu boy.

Peg, I don't understand these doctors who just move away without making adequate arrangements for the patients they're leaving. Shame on your ex-neuro for not referring you to an arrangement that would work for you and your infusion.

I've seen Ragu and other pasta sauces on supermarket shelves but never tried them. I used to make spaghetti often and had 3 different recipes I used. I used canned tomatoes and canned tomato sauce though and sometimes even broke down and used canned mushrooms instead of fresh.

I always thought spaghetti to involve quite a bit of effort, I guess.

School lunchrooms have a way of serving really dismal spaghetti. I thought the readymade kind might taste like that. But you people here are eating Ragu and liking it. Maybe I'll give it a try.

It's really good Agate, and like Cat pointed out, there are a variety on different ingredients added, just pick one that suits your taste. And add a meat. Most folks just add ground beef, but I mostly use ground turkey. I feel like beef has so many injections when it's alive, turkey probably has less, or none. I can't imagine giving a flock of turkeys a shot!

I've got a good recipe for spaghetti sauce, and another for pizza sauce but I find the bottled sauces an acceptable substitute. Make the pasta, add meat (cooked), heat sauce, toss together. I usually add extra oregano and basil, but that's not necessary. We have it often as it's quick and easy. (And you can make it meatless if you want).

Thanks for the heads up on the bottled spaghetti sauce!

I'm afraid turkeys and chickens are pumped full of antibiotics. I really wish they'd stop this. It's very dangerous. I don't know if they get an injection or a pill. I can imagine that on a large turkey farm there'd be a regular assembly line for turkeys getting their shots....

I watched part of the video, and it looks as if the antibiotics are added to the water.

Ann, maid showed up today. It's alright, since I go at such a slow pace when I do the whole house it takes me at least 3 days. I will vacuum after she finishes with her work and leaves. It really is fine, but I would like to know and she could have just called me yesterday. She said she forgot. I like and trust her so I will try to continue on. She has done this before and then shows up later.
