There was a movie with Robert DeNero where he went to a Chiro, and he had to go every few weeks to get that alignment. I hardly remember the movie, or the name of it. I personally would never go to one, yet have a cousin that does that, or did. I haven't seen him since I was a kid.

Thanks for the condolences on the new car. Estimate is for about $2000. Will probably be done right after Christmas and the insurance will give me a rental for the 3 days it will be in the shop.
I have had horrible luck with chiropractors since about 2002 and have sworn off them. I have a hip that shifts upwards when I walk a lot and it throws things off. The trip to NH and back and all of that sitting did not help either. PT showed David how to pull my leg and hold traction while I pull back and that generally helps. I just let it get too far before asking for help. It has gotten progressively better throughout the day today which started with a half hour of stretching in the pool.

Like any medical professional, there are great chiropractor , average and poor. Might try a different one if your hip still is a problem? That is the same thing that keeps slipping out on me. Made great progress, after becoming nonfunctional for six months without chiropractor care.
My treatment only lasts a day, but its still way better than before, when I couldnt lift leg to tie shoe, and my thigh was completely numb.
I blame SPS for constant pulling on muscles that impact the alignment of spine etc.

Another spasm free night. Was able to walk and stand more yesterday, compromised skin on seating bone is healing. Started using ROHO cushion yesterday too, and I think the less sitting is the key.
Working hard to beat back the side effects of inactivity and high dose muscle relaxants.
What a beastly disease...

In case there are people who are unaware of the difference, this explains how chiropractors, MDs and DOs are different from one another:

I've never been to a chiropractor. I've always stuck with the mainstream docs but I've known people who always go to chiropractors and never to MDs.
Howie, there are packaged snickerdoodles put out by Pepperidge Farm. I've never tried them but they're probably the standard item. If you can't arrange to hang around Peg's place looking hungry, maybe you could buy a bag of them at the store next time. It seems a shame to think that there's someone who's never had a snickerdoodle.Last edited by agate; 12-21-2018, 07:30 AM.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Cherie, I liked your video. You've made an important point that many people don't seem to have thought about--that there can be comfort and help in communicating with others who are in the same boat.SPMS diagnosed 1980. I've read too many stories about damage done by chiropractors to even consider going to one. Stories I've read include damage to the neck, shoulders and hips! Consumer Reports considers them no better than quacks. I know people who swear by them, but I don't consider them to be much more than quacks.

:)I sent a Christmas card with money in it to my friend Peggy. She is the one I bought the Hoveround for. It came back with everything but her name blacked out and return to sender.
My friend Liz took it to the nursing home last night. Peggy died on December 2nd. I called her daughter and she said they could not find my number?! Peggy wished for them to take her ashes to her favorite beach here on a motorcycle and spread them there. Peggy collected pigs and liked Miss Piggy.
I am so sorry I did not know she had gotten worse. At least she is no longer in pain and is with God. I will miss her. I am glad I saw her last month. Jeanie :)
