Jo, I hope you had fun spending the money. We deserve to do it once in a while.

Bella, that always bugs me about the college degree. I have one and when I went out into the work force the experience did me more wonders than my degree. So I'm all for expereince over a degree.

Leo, I sure hope you are on your way to feeling better before the holidays are here. How are you going to power shop on black friday? LOL

Chris, I'm glad that you went to the classes. I wish that you could go to one that runs a bit longer. How are you doing now?

Since I pay the bills DH doesn't see what I spend. He's only happy if I leave him some spending money. lol. I don't go out to the sales on friday anymore. Too many people for my brain. When the kids were little I would go with GF and get great deals on things I didn't need. Now I go to the museum on friday. Most people are out shopping. So their hardy anyone there.

Anyone having Thanksgiving? We are going to the SIL's house which there will be over 20 people there. I never look forward to it. It just wears me down. Too much going on.

I'm already regretting asking my son to turkey dinner. I'm just too tired to do all that needs to be done. he'll get alot of leftover's!

my mom called on Sat. she chatted for over an hour,at first she sounded OK,then she got weird & I realized I'm just fooling myself that she's OK. afterwards my back was killing me-finally figured it was the stress of talking to her.

it's getting cold here,in the twenties. already looking forward to spring!ha

Jo,good for you just go across the street & spend money! sounds like my kind of shopping.

old uncle had his 100th BD party yesterday,my housemate took the other uncle (he's only 91). I only like the younger of the two,we talk football on the phone.

Smiles and chuckles everybody Well, either Mr. hasn't been in the "Pay bill box or he just don't care cause he hates to go shopping and he has to go with me to carry anything I buy. The girl across the street called me twice this morning. I had told them to come pick up some pecans. I don't think I have ever seen so many pecans in all my life from this tree. We already have a very big wash tub slap full and I don't want anymore. She said they would picked some up for me if they could come back and get more. I said thank you, but no thanks on them picking up for me. I told her how much we had already picked up.

She always gives me a better price than what is on things. She's a sweetie. I will probably get most of my shopping done there. She is also an Interior Decorador & a florist. She has so many beautiful things in her shop. Ken is back at the eye Drs. Something about his left eye is not right and he is going nuts. I just hope it isn't something huge. He was so happy with the right eye. He has been so grouchy. I didn't even have to tell him to call the Dr. He just came thru and told me he had called.

If any of you haven't notided the "auto save thing on the "reply to thread" Go to Feedback forum and read the thread I started. Everybody else probably knows already. I'm just a slow learner.

I was writing a post one day and the door bell rang. I was gone so long I had to log back in. I went back to where I had writen the post and of course it wasn't there anymore, or so I thought. I saw the "restore auto save" in the left hand corner, I clicked on it and the post just popped right back up. I said goodby and posted it. I was very happy to find thid feature. I keep finding things I didn't know we could do. I'm liking these new forums more every day.

Well, I'm back for a min. Ken got home from the Drs. office. the Dr. discovered he had left a piece of the old lens in the eye when he put the new one in. He will have to go thru the surgery again, in the morning.

6 :30 a.m.!! We will have to leave here at 5:30 to get there. The Dr. had a morning flight to some place and all the offices are closed tomorrow. I guess he twisted somebody's arm to get them to come in and help him. Ken is very upset, besides he is hurting . I knew something wasn't right. The left eye was swollen, evey day it was more swollen.

So, please say a little prayer for him. Me too so I will be nice to him. I try to be, but the harder I try the more grouchy he gets.

If I don't get back here before Thanksgiving I want to wish a very happy Thanksgiving to all of my best friends. I love you all , Julia aka Jo s



p.s. I enjoyed every min. of that shopping and I plan to go back over soon.
it's really nice and I can always sit down, right in the middle of the floor.
It also helps that I have known her all her life and my mom used to baby-sit
her when she was little. Yes Jeannie, it's nice to have friends in high places
even NH's.!

Kripey it took me most of the day to get caught up and I am not too sure how much I will remember LOL. This thread has some stuff I missed.

Leo I am so sorry that you have been in so much misery. What a complicated mess huh? I am so glad that you are on the road to some kind of healing.

Lor I think of you and your yard often. I have a huge yard to decorate now so I think that maybe some home made Christmas and other holiday outdoor decor may be a year round hobby. Lots of great stuff on the internet and saw on Martha Stewart that she had some guy out to her house and he made these awesome huge ghost figures made out of scary faced carved pumpkins. I will see if I can find it to post here.

CJ won't be happy lol maybe he will take to it like I got him to do with recycling, cause he already complains that we need a room to store my Christmas decorations alone. I get so much Christmas stuff from trash, yard sales, Freecycle, evictions that last year I had to get rid of a big ole box of some and still had too much for the house. I can't help it, I love it. I try not to set it up too soon cause then I have to dust it twice. This way I only have to dust it when I put it away LOL. Yeah I'm lazy like that.

Jo I am so glad to see you back so often. You and Joy both. I know how hard it is to sit in front of the computer. I can't imagine where we would put our puter if I didn't have my iPad and now I have confiscated my brother's laptop since he has been here once since April. I put it on a rolling table that is similar to a hospital table. Which was today.

Wasn't real happy to see him cause I am afraid he will try to come more often. He says he has stayed away cause he is afraid of me. Good! Let him keep thinking that way.

There is way more but my back is starting to hurt so I am cutting this short.

Well golly tomorrow is Thanksgiving. We need to get to the store tonight lol. I am going to take something for pain and work on the house. Think I will clean the house and get started with some of the preparation.

Yes, I hope all had a good Thanksgiving. WEll Wed. I got up a 3:00a.m. to get Ken to clinic for the corection surgery!! Yes, I was Piised off in purple, big time!!

Over a week Ken had been in so much pain, but had seen 2 different eye Drs., but neither one saw the old lense floating around causing him pain. He wasn't happy either. When they finished the surgery they told me to take him back to the other eye Dr by 9:30 a.m. I guess they thought I was Super Biotch?? WE had to travel an hour to get there!

I was driving and Ken said he was going to just lay back and shut his eyes so he wouldn't have a coranary!! I stoped at Hardee's and got us a busicuit and him some coffee. As I was getting back into the car I poured that HOT Coffee down between my boobs and did it ever burn me!! I like my coffee hot, but not THAT hot and in my mouth instead of down my boobs!!

Anyway, we finally got home, he went to sleep, I closed my eyes for a min. and before I knew it I was waking up 2 hrs later. I had so much to do and found out real quick I could not do it by myself. Bless him, he went to the gro. store with me, wasn't much help, but he did push the cart so I could use my walker.

The day was gone and I had to lay down because I couldn't stand up another min. I got up at 4:00a.m., didn't go back to sleep, got started on my dinner. Dear Beth came over early and helped me, mostly she did everything else I had to do.She is an angel!!

We had a good day, all grands and kids came except grandson & his wife that live in Chicago and 1 other grandson. Everybody were on their best behavor, litt 9 month Ryleigh was the show of the day.

After all were gone and it was time to go to bed Ken said his hand hurt where they put the port for the IV. She had stuck him so many times and I could understand why it hurt. I looked at it, his wrist and a ways above his wrist was blood red! I've seen it before and I knew what was hurting him . He had a staff infection!! Early this a.m. he called all his Drs., none would be there until Monday. I didn't have to tell him, but he went , or was going to ER .

The Drug store called about my Meds. and they told him to go to Greenville which was an hour of traveling. they couldn't help him there, sent him across to see a Dr. he had never seen before. She took one look at it and she said it was a staff infection. Well, he and I are so old we usually know whats wrong and have to tell the Dr.

She gave him a script and he got it filled on the way home. I looked at his hand and arm awhile ago and it looked dark, like it was turning black!! If it gets any blacker or he is in more dis-comfort I'm hauling his arse to ER!! He may have to take the anti-biotic's in IV. I didn't say that to him, but sometimes I have to sort of suggest it and let him think it's his idea. See Joy, it MEN in general!!

So, this holiday has worn me out!! I am worried about him and thats taking its toll on me. He's begening to see how it feels to get old.

Sorry this is so long, but if I'm not here you will know why. Other than all of the stuff with Ken we both were glad to see all the kids. We Sure were glad for them to go home though!!

Oh Lor, Forgot to tell you you can have as many pecans as you want, but you'll have to come and pick them up and shell them yourself. lol Really, how many do you want and how much postage does it cost? they are kind of heavy if you get over 2 lbs.

Holy smokes Queenie sounds like you had a rushed harried holiday. Doesn't it seem something always comes up about then lol.

I made sure that I wasn't a spaz this holiday trying to make everything perfect. I did clean the house on Wednesday, well...the kitchen/dining rooms and the the living room lol. I am happy with that for now. Been a while since all three were clean at one time lolol.

We went to the grocery store Wednesday night, I know kind of late, and we got a frozen goose. Been ages since I have had any and didn't even remember what it is like. My oldest brother came by like he always does and ate and visited. I didn't expect to hear from any of the others.

I never cooked a goose before so got the instructions online from a reputable site and it is a good thing I must have a cook's nose because when it started to smell done I took it's temperature and it was shooting over 170 degrees and recommendation is 165. I wasn't real fond of it. The meat is too stringy and muscular for me. I will stick to my non fliers lol.

Besides that everything else was great. Nothing special. Shortcake misses the huge family get togethers. I know he does as I do but I can't think about that or I will start bawling. I don't know what to do to fill the hole.

So today I loaded the dishwasher and finished picking up from yesterday's dinner and have done nothing but lay around.

I am feeling much better lately. I have been without my Klonopin for about 2 weeks and actually I don't even notice a difference. Am thinking maybe just keep it on hand in case of emergencies. I actually slept for about 10 hours last night. It was wonderful lolol.

Shortcake has a friend staying the night. Seems someone is here every weekend. We call them the three of them the Three Musketeers. Shortcake and his two friends are almost the last three to come out when the bell rings at the end of the school day then they talk to each other throughout the early evening. Like they hate the thought of parting lol.

Is cute and it is good for him to develop long lasting friends. We'll see what happens when school changes next fall.

Well it is finally time for bed, passed time lol.

yes lil'queenie, big queenie was in a blue funk and hardly thought of a thing when all the company was here! lol lol. Yes, it's usually me that is hauling butt to ER with flu or something else as dreadful.

All in all, I just finally stoped fretting. Have hardly spoken today to anybody. Haven't seen anybody and thinking I'll go make me a crossant turkey sandwich. I got rid of all left evers last night. One night of left over are enough, don'tca think?

We did have a good Thanksgiving though. no fussing and fighting among the kids and the grands are all about grown up, except Ryleigh of course. It was nice for a change. I did miss my brother and his family. They Awlays had thanksgiving dinner here and a fun get together at Christmas. When so many started dying we kinda stoped doing that. something every year. Brothers daughter was one of the neices that passed away.

lil'queenie, ya remember my baby sister on Face Book ? Jewel? She and her hubby will have their 50th wedding anniversary in December!! Can you imaging being married to one person THAT long?? I am happy for them though.

Well, better go and do something productive. I love this forum!! It feels like home in here.

poor Ken,what a fiasco! staph is nothing to fool with so hopefully on the mend! and here I thought I was the one with bad eye doc luck! Jo,you made it through the trauma so try to relax now if ya can.

Chris,when I read you were planning to cook a goose I had to laugh (and hoped you'd have something else to eat).

I've had it with eating leftover's! my son didn't take much home with him. been on a carb rush for 3 days now,need a salad!

today I cleaned my trailer & can enjoy clean sheets tonight. I've done more cleaning this week than in the past month.

nice to share our holiday with people we care about on here & in person.
