Somebody mentioned my name... yeah, had a lovely shower on Monday. Nearly clogged the drain with dirt and dandruff :). Then a funny thing happened -- the bath lady called later in the day to tell me that "your doctor did not authorize showers, or order them. We can't assist you with showers until the doctor orders them".

Common sense squashed again. If the wound is closed, I can get up 30 minutes at a time, 4 times a day, seems like I could use one of those 30 minute periods for a shower! So this morning I called the doctor, talked to his nurse, asked if indeed I could shower? To which she responded, "well, of course!" So I asked her to fax the "orders" over to the nurse to make it happen next week. So Monday is shower day once again.

Also, and I don't know the schedule yet, physical therapy starts next week. I've been doing some things myself, but need the nagging of the therapist to get it done.

In the meantime, as I type this, Tom Cat is at the local hospital getting a bone density test, and xrays on one knee and his back. He has a compression fracture of his spine.....And the doctor wants to see if it's any worse, to see what to do next. Old age sucks.

I have four cats. My momma cat will take on any challengers and shred them up. Another will want to make new cats his friends. A third will.stuff herself into the nearest dark corner and not come out. The fourth would just lie back and watch the action... maybe I'll just leave them at home... :)

Congrats on the shower and getting the order sent, Cat.

My cats would look for sun patches in the day and people to cuddle with at night. Then end up w each other.

Oh bring your cats! They'll cheer Vicky up!

Vicky, you did say you needed cheering up, didn't you?

That momma cat ("the Shredder") definitely should have a room of her own.

Cat, I'm so glad you were able to arrange for a regular shower.

I was really upset when I found out some nursing homes bathe patients (or let them shower) only ONCE A WEEK. I still can't get over that though I heard it some years ago.

Um, when did I say that? I can't find it.

Vicky, I thought I heard it too. You should not tell about the heating condition of your house. You devalued it to the point that Ann just might get her almost new hubby away from the subway.

Cat, so glad you got your looong shower. I know it was enjoyed very much. Also good for you for getting the Doctor's office to fax orders for you. I hope TC's test turn out to be as good as can be. You guys been through enough for awhile.

Just leave everything to us, Vicky! Once you get cheered up by these cats, you'll realize that you really did need cheering up.

And Vicky, we will need a lot of kitty litter boxes.

                  Gary, I miss you.

Howie dancing in a thong would REALLY cheer me up!

Ooh, a B&B that accepts pets, Taelor would love that. He just loves people and thinks all humans are his new best friend, I'll be sure to make sure he gets a bath first.

Glad you got that sorted out, Cat and you enjoyed your shower! Hope TC's tests came out fine.

                            Happy birthday, Nora!

Sooo....are we looking at a 4th of July party at Vicky's then, should we pencil it in? I vote for Cat to bring the sweet treats and wantons, Howie can bring the treats for the 4-legged ones! Looks like we might have the start of a new (summer) leafwatchers gathering!

Since watching green leaves might be a bit boring, maybe it should be a treat-eaters gathering. We will be eating treats, won't we? I'm glad Cat was nominated to bring some of them.

If we need any ingredients, I'm sure Vicky will have everything we need in stock, and we can just dip into the flour and sugar and butter and eggs and so on.

It's certainly nice of her to invite us to take potluck and stay over. We'll try to be good houseguests for as long as we decide to stay....
