My last PT session was supposed to be on Wednesday of last week but the ride never showed up (!). I kept waiting and finally cancelled the appointment because it's an hour time-slot and that hour had passed. So now I'm rescheduled for June 27.

I do still have problems since the fall in March. Pain in the injured area sets in if I stand for too long, and my walking is still wobbly at times. "Rome wasn't built in a day." I'm still doing my exercises like a good girl.

Today's mail brought a letter from my primary care doctor announcing that she's moving out of the area in mid-July. Shucks! She and I were getting along quite well, I thought.

I have a list of 6 other doctors at that clinic I can choose from. I know nothing about any of them except for what I've found out on healthgrades.com and Yelp. One has a video, and that was helpful.

SuzE-Q, as long as the scrapes don't show any signs of infection, they're probably just taking their time healing. I'm sorry I can't recall when you had that bad fall but I hope that the effects won't last much longer!
    SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

I just had a minor triumph on the Net. Facebook took the liberty to put EVERYONES birthday on MY calendar. I've wanted to remove them for a LONG time. I finally got a new calendar at the Windows store. All the events "I" put on it are still there, everything else removed. It's about time!

Facebook does far too many things that irritate me. I stay on it to keep in touch with people but it's fairly useless most of the time.

Not my story but I did just see this on FB, though. Who knows if it's true or not?

"I was waiting in line to buy tickets at a movie theater, and there was a fellow in front of me with cerebral palsy (or MS, or some other horrible thing that puts you in a chair and f—- up your body).

It was taking a while. I watched this guy struggle to open an envelope by holding it with his teeth and using his one functional hand. I wasn’t sure what to do, or if offering to help would be insulting, so I just chilled. He was doing it before the person in front of him was done with the cashier anyway, and it looked like he’d done this before.

He gets up to the counter and it takes him a minute to get out his Regal card and pay for the ticket. The woman behind me started to make (loud) snide remarks about how “People like that shouldn’t be allowed to go to the movies.”

I was enraged. It was a kind of anger I’ve never experienced before. At first I didn’t know what to do. She said something else, and the fellow in front of me paused. At that moment I turned around and said to her “We should all be so lucky to wait in this line on our own two feet. Keep your disingenuous thoughts to yourself.”

The woman looked shocked and the guy behind me leaned over to his date and said “Daaaaaaaaamn…” His date was looking at me like she’d just splooshed her pants. The woman behind me shut her mouth.

It took a moment longer for the guy to get to the counter, but when I got there the girl at the register said I could go to any movie I wanted, that the gentleman in front of me had paid for me and said “thanks.”

If you’re out there, disabled guy, I didn’t do it looking for a reward, I did it because sometimes people are real asshats, and no one deserves to experience what you did today. Thanks for the movie ticket, though. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was awesome."

You did good Vicky. Some people are so caught up in their own little world, and don't give a thought about others. Keep speaking your mind!!!

Thanks Howie but I didn't say it. I just saw it on Facebook. Still want to thank me?

Yes Vicky. If you hadn't posted it here, I would never have seen it. Facebook is very limited for me. I like cat stuff, and funny things, and the odd things that are interesting.

I'm working on my "junk room" today. I'm being merciless, if it doesn't give me a warm feeling all over, in the trash it goes!

I'd like to thank you for posting the story even though it's someone else's experience. It's always nice to know someone's in the corner of those of us who have our problems dealing with daily tasks that others find easy.

I'm starting to be glad so many people are so busy on their cellphones in public places now. When they're busy texting, they're not making hostile remarks about other people in line.

Thanks for posting that Vicky. I would like to think that it is true. Surely there really are some nice folks out there, we just seem to notice the nasty ones more often.

Ann, how lucky can you get - he can iron your clothes and even enjoys it. I think you got yourself a keeper for all time for sure, but then you knew that all along.

Agate, you are having my problem with PCPs. Mine left back earlier in the year. They are telling me that a replacement for her will be in about the middle of July. I liked the one I had and didn't want to get rid of her. I'll have to wait and see how I feel about this one.

Back a number of years ago, well before cell phones, I spent time with people who were mentally ill -- the kind of mental illness where they'd talk to imaginary people, people in their heads, carry on sometimes quite elaborate conversations with them. We'd be out somewhere,,like at a Wal-Mart, and I'd be constant trying to get them to not talk to their "friends", or,at least whisper. "Use your indoor voice!"...

Now all I'd have to do is stick an earbud in their ear, tuck the other end into a pocket, and they could talk away, and not bother anyone....

Thank you, Virginia. I am sure he's the one. And he loves to cook! Just not interested in yard work. I have to hire for that. I'm going to look at Task Rabbit for help.

It's a hot day here. Hi 80's and humid. My living room is 86! The skylights sure help in the winter but I need to get shades for them and soon.

I am so happy BBS is surfing and sharing it. I love the ocean.

Still miss Gary and Nuthatch, Renee and others.
