    More hen input here.

Howie, if I had been told to go to a doctor's office but I didn't understand why, I'd call and ask why first. There might be a misunderstanding, and the whole trip would be unnecessary.

No, it was worth it. I was taking one BP med wrong. It says on the label, two, twice a day. My MS brain interpreted that as one pill in the morning, one in the evening. It should have been 2 in the morning, two in the evening.

So that's straight now. The BP was down, but now it should come down even more. I stopped at the store and now I'm set for a while. I'm having the second mug of coffee that I didn't have this morning.

I got Sam some more litter. Life is good.

Howie, I'm glad your doctor's office is on the ball on this. Some of us here have to hold down the fort if so many people are away doing their elf thing.

What a cute picture. I always think of my two great nieces who were watched by "the elf on the shelf" before Christmas, and of course during the night the elf moved around so he could keep an eye on their goings on. One of the nieces was quite a bit older, but when she caught on she never told the younger one. I think the older ones usually tell.

I'd never heard of the elf on the shelf until this evening, when it was explained on the TV news! I was thinking of the elves who assist Santa Claus in making toys at the North Pole or wherever Santa is these days--maybe a virtual North Pole?

I always thought that Santa was watching--looking in the window and making sure I had cleaned up my room or whatever I was supposed to be doing right.

Howie, for fun, do you want to give all of us hens heart palpitations and tell us what your BP was when your doctor's office checked it, then sent you straight to the hospital?

                Howie,
Did they tell you that with high BP they recommend no more than 1-2 cups of coffee a day and it should be decaf? They can be real sticklers about it if they know you are drinking as much as you are. Maybe taper a bit or get some decaf and add some to the regular to slowly cut back on the caffeine?
Tell them you must have it to combat MS fatigue? It is the drug of choice for many for that. If they know they the can be less insistent.

We went to the Holiday concert at the high school where Kristof attends this evening. He is first violin (9th grader) and they are teaching him to play bass with two free lessons each week and a bass at home and one at school so he does not need to transport. He is also in the guitar class and keyboard and is hoping to join the national championship caliber jazz band at the high school. Wants a double major in Music and Engineering so he can design bikes for those with special needs. He is into competitive mountain biking and cyclocross. That kid just seems to have been dealt a full deck plus.

A bit of more difficult time here. My back and hip are acting up making walking and getting from sitting to standing and twisting and turning much more difficult in the past week. Also, David was in my new car last week and thought he was in reverse, was looking backward rather than watching the back up screen and was in drive and slammed into the garage door causing nearly $2000 damage to the front of my new car. That is just after over filling the furnace and blowing the radiators and causing over $5000 damage to our house. No homeowner claims ever in 40 years till now and no auto claims since 7 years ago when our car was hit by flying debris from a vehicle more and a half mile ahead of us. Ugh. Both homeowners and auto claims in the span of one month. I know this is troubling to him in a big way. I just need to back off and say , "It could happen to anybody.".

Chiropractor can help you Chere. I always thought they were a hoax. Until I tried it last year. I go in in pain, I leave the office walking almost normally.

Oh, Cherie, so sorry about your new car! And sorry you are both having some difficulties.

Yesterday saw some improvement in the SEs of Baclofen with my first day of a 10mg reduction to 100mg daily. Will do it for a week. Then, if no spasms, doc said to reduce it an9ther 10mg

Hello everyone. I'm just getting up and having my coffee. Getting up at 1pm when I went to bed at 11 is why I drink coffee. I NEED it, or would probably stay asleep.

SuzE-Q, I don't know what my BP was when they sent me to the hospital, but thought the nurse was going to have a stroke.

I guess it's getting close to Christmas. I used to at least hang a stocking and fill it with cats treats, but stopped that years ago. It's just another day around here.

Well, everyone have a great day.

Cherie, sorry about the Prius, but as far as David goes it actually could happen to anyone. I know when it happens to us we think how could we have done that, but people do things all the time that make them think that. It is dealing with it all afterward that is the hardest part, and I expect you do most of that.

Howie, I went to your store today - Food Lion. I was able to get the few things that I had to have for my salad and a couple of other things, but they did not have my kind of yogurt. I was disappointed in that regard. I went there and then came back past the entrance to where I live and kept going in the other direction to the cleaners. I think I drove a little over 3 miles by the time I got back home.

My dad drove his car through the back of of my parents garage. He stopped driving after that.

GI doc tomorrow at 4:40 PM. I hope she has a good plan.

Good luck for a good plan, tomorrow, ANN!

Glad the reduction in baclofen is going well, Sunshine!

Cherie, so sorry about your new car, I think we all have that exact fear about a new car!

I used to go to a chiropractor all the time, but now, am increasingly leery about them the older I get. I think I was just braver when younger.

I go through phases as to which grocery store I prefer, it seems.

Ann, hoping and praying for some productive outcome of tomorrows visit to G.I. They've got to come up with the cause of what is going on.

Suze-Q, I went to a chiropractor one time. He was a sports chiropractor and worked on some big name sports people. I was in the process of trying to find out what was wrong with me. This was just before I got a diagnosis. He was going to do something to my neck, can't remember exactly what but it scared me. I think he was going to align me. Shortly after I was diagnosed and never went back to him. Was busy with the Neuro after that.
