Do they need to be microwaved, Howie?

I got rid of my 25 year old microwave a few years ago because I was worried the seal may not be secure and it may be leaking microwaves, being so old.

I intended to, but never ended up replacing it, and surprisingly, I don't miss it as much as I thought.

Are you still having your nightly libations, Howie? I don't think I've heard you mention that in a while. Vodka, was it?

Thanks Gary, but I think I've got my meds sorted out, and vodka I'm sure was the cause of many health issues. I do drink beer, but that's a big difference!

I just shipped off one of the Dish TV units. It was in the living room, and I never used it. Saves me $10 a month. Then I went to the store, and used the coin counter, then took all my money to my name to the checkout, and I have 44 cents until payday on the 3rd.

I have plenty of food for myself and the cats, so I'm ready to hibernate until payday!

I never knew you could boil them. But I'm a microwave chef. Those beef tips are really good. All the dinners have plenty of gravy so you can stir it into potatoes or dressing, or whatever the dinner comes with.

            Thanks, Vicky! Good to know!

Howie, how was vodka a contributing factor to your health issues?

Actually, I just drank too much. A 1.75 liter bottle lasted me 2 days. That's a whole lot! Then I had spells when I couldn't sleep even after taking OTC sleep meds which I always washed down with my last bit of vodka.

I went 4 days without sleeping once. That is definitely bad for you.

Beer I can drink all day and not really feel it. With any type of alcohol, you have to know your limits, and never try to go beyond where you need to stop.

                Yikes!

Washing down sleep meds with alcohol is a recipe for disaster for sure! If you want to wake up again, at least.

Hope you're able to sleep now, I'm a total mess if I can't sleep properly too.

Vodka tastes a lot like a particularly vile cough medicine I remember. Just my opinion.

Really? Its funny how people's perception varies, I like the taste of Vodka but gin on the other hand is just plain nasty. I like bourbon and recently discovered that I like scotch, especially the real good stuff, you know aged in a wood cask for 30 years or so.

A friend raised a turkey for us for Thanksgiving Dinner. We have a USDA approved butcher shop in town. So I don't have to mess with it at all. There is something to be said to someone else doing the work. I never did like butchering. As we are doing the dinner thing on Friday we will have a houseful. The family of the little girl with cancer that IU hav written about are all coming out to dinner. We are making a special spot in the sewing castle for the dogs. The have 2 little ones and their dog is a black lab that is every bodies friend and our 3 dogs have never been around little kids. Better safe than sorry.

They grew up with our grandkids but as they are old and grumpy (the oldest is 16). When we built the room for the sewing castle we put in vinyl flooring as it would be easier than carpet to keep clean

Beer and wine for me. I like Ales and Belgian beers but will have a glass of Chianti with Lenny on Sat. night.

Gary, don't FDA grown birds have to be given all kinds of drugs and chemicals in their feed?

Ha ha very funny Howie! I used to do all our butchering myself. Now I take whatever is going to the freezer to a FDA approved shop. At least I am reasonable sure of how it is done. And I use someone we know so I am assured of getting my meat back cut and wrapped. Instead of someone else that brought in an old range cow. Yes it does happen....a lot.

My sister raises Angus beef, and I think she has mentioned them getting vaccinated, and thought maybe birds get something similar but through their food.
